ATHLETE COVERAGE CONSENT & MEDIA USE POLICY
1. Purpose of Coverage
Backfield Media LLC provides complimentary sports coverage for athletes and teams through interviews, articles, photographs, reels, graphics, video segments, and game or event coverage. All content is created to highlight athlete performance, promote positive storytelling, and support community engagement.
2. Scope of Consent
By participating in any interview, feature, highlight, or coverage activity with Backfield Media LLC, you grant permission for Backfield Media to record video and audio, capture or use photos, collect athletic information, and publish the resulting content on BackfieldMedia.com and associated social platforms. This includes Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Threads, X, and other official Backfield Media channels.
3. Information That May Be Used
Published content may include the athlete’s name, school, team, position, class year, public athletic statistics, quotes provided voluntarily, and images or video captured during the coverage process or shared directly by the athlete, parent, or coach.
4. Duration of Published Content
All published media may remain on the Backfield Media website, social platforms, and digital archives indefinitely unless a formal removal request is submitted and approved. Content may also be republished in highlight recaps, end-of-season features, and other storytelling projects.
5. Requests for Edits, Updates, or Removal
Athletes, parents, guardians, or coaches may request factual corrections, edits, or content removal. Requests must include the athlete’s full name, sport, school, and a link to the published content. Backfield Media will review the request and provide a response or update within 48–72 hours. Final decisions are made by Backfield Media leadership to ensure accuracy, safety, and fairness.
6. Minors and Youth Athletes
For athletes under the age of 18, consent is recognized when a parent, guardian, coach, school representative, or authorized adult:
• coordinates or approves the interview or coverage
• provides or allows access to photos or footage
• communicates with Backfield Media regarding the athlete
• appears during or supervises filming
These interactions serve as authorization for youth coverage.
7. Accuracy and Content Updates
Backfield Media may update content to reflect corrected statistics, team changes, or relevant athlete information. Athletes, parents, and coaches may also submit corrections at any time. All updates are made at the discretion of Backfield Media to maintain accurate reporting.
8. Appropriate Conduct and Safety Guidelines
Backfield Media reserves the right to decline, postpone, or remove any coverage involving:
• unsafe or inappropriate behavior
• harassment, bullying, or discriminatory conduct
• violations of school, league, or event policies
• safety concerns affecting athletes, staff, or the public
These measures protect all parties and uphold Backfield Media’s standards.
9. Complimentary Coverage & Optional Paid Services
All athlete coverage is complimentary. No athlete, parent, or coach is required to pay for interviews, articles, or standard recognition. Optional paid services (such as reels, graphics, business promotions, or sponsorship packages) are separate and never influence who receives coverage or how athletes are featured.
10. Future Use of Media
Backfield Media may reuse recorded or published content in future projects including—but not limited to—highlight reels, seasonal reviews, promotional recaps, social media posts, branded media examples, and portfolio or presentation materials. Backfield Media does not sell athlete content to third parties.
11. External Sharing and Reposting
Athletes, parents, coaches, and teams may download or repost Backfield Media content on their own platforms with credit when possible. Backfield Media retains all original rights to the content it produces.
12. Contact for Permissions or Requests
For any questions regarding this policy, permissions, edits, or removal requests, please contact Backfield Media leadership through the official website form or designated email.
